Hope everyone is having a great week and that you are settling into October with ease. This week I decided to look at 5 key looks that you will have in your wardrobe but will give you multi wears. For the record I adore and love ‘High Fashion’ and ‘Catwalk’ looks but unfortunately, for me they don’t always translate to everyday wear. I get it, that designers are like artists and push design to new levels and evoke conversations that make headlines. I love the ‘wacky’ its refreshing but I don’t have the dollars or the body to carry off these looks.
At m-use, when we are buying pieces we are thinking of what we would actually wear and what you would wear and buy too. Our accessories are pieces by nature are classic and can be worn with more than one outfit more than once. Careful consideration is taken when choosing a piece to display on our online store. We are constantly checking out fashion houses, magazines and street style. I have actually chased people down Grafton Street to find out where they have purchased an item of clothing. I love people watching and love nothing more than sitting having coffee and seeing what real life people are wearing. If I see a well dressed lady, I will quickly do a wardrobe edit and see what I have and what I need to complete their look. If it was a console game I would score high, if only I could have applied that quick thinking to my studies!
For this weeks blog, I decided to concentrate on shops that are accessible and online to make life easier for you busy ladies. We are talking mid price range, no Penney’s in sight. I know loads of bloggers adore Penney’s and I do find it handy for smaller items and one off pieces but I’m afraid I can’t pull off Penney’s, my wallet wishes I could but unfortunately, I don’t find the fit or fabrics work for me. I hope you get some ideas from this blog. I really enjoyed putting it together. All the pieces I have used can be worn in many ways example the oversized sweater works with denims, leather look skinnies, black cropped trousers. Having key pieces in your wardrobe really is like a well stocked cupboard. You will always create a wonderful dish with a few essentials and of course some spices!
It wouldn’t be Autumn/Winter without a bit of velvet or sparkle. For all the Magpies out there why not trade your sequins for a shiny velvet piece. You don’t need to be head to toe in it but when used sparingly it really does exude a sense of royalty to your clothes. At m-use, we found the most gorgeous sumptuous velvet bag ‘Coco’ this bag will work hard for you over the coming months. It will up the stakes on your day look and will add that spark to your night time look. It can be easily worn with a dress or denims. I’m a big fan of silky camisoles with skinny jeans. I know that a lot women are conscious of their upper arm area so pop on a tuxedo blazer or kimino style jacket and you will be able to rock this look!
This is a truly wearable outfit. The pleated midi skirt is all over insta and pinterest. This skirt can be paired with ankle boots, strappy heels or flats. This super cosy oversized black sweater is a wardrobe must, but it won’t see the wardrobe for long as it can be worn casually with this cream pleated skirt, skinny jeans, black cropped trousers or denims. Pop a white frilled neckline shirt underneath for a super classic look. I have paired back the accessories introducing a pair of gold star studs (also available in silver), a mixed metal necklace of gold and silver stars on a silver chain, a silver gold bangle and our Olivia PU leather shopper bag. Heels can be stowed away for a quick change for evening affairs.
Scarlet for you!

Red is the colour for Autumn/Winter ’17, why not jump on board with this cute slightly oversized red sweater. The inspo picture above is from Sandro, which I was very tempted to buy but I found this nicely priced alternative in H&M. It is just a beautiful shade of red (screams Victoria Beckham) and when paired with the black cropped (so comfy) trousers also from H&M will create a smart look, while enjoying the comforts of a trackie. I found the perfect mule shoe from Dune and it is as close a copy to the Gucci as I can find. I would love to buy the real deal but can’t justify the spend on flats. This is quite a masculine look but a tiny nod to Audrey Hepburn.
Okay, time to get your granny chic on! From recent posts you probably can gather that we are a little obsessed with floral prints. I love the floral print and I’m a bit besotted by Rixo London. I think they have brought some interesting patterns in classic shaped dresses to the table. I have tried these dresses on and just adore them. The printed wrap midi length dress is my lust after as I feel this dress will serve well on so many levels. Okay, so wear this dress as a standalone piece with strappy heels, or velvet courts or give it an oriental twist and leave it open with a camisole top and a pair of blue relaxed straight legged denims with mules or heels. I think this look might even see you right into Summer ‘18.
Popped into my local Zara and this caught my eye, not a show stopper piece at all but on closer inspection I realized that this piece was ‘a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing’, this one piece ticks so many boxes. For the price-point this jumpsuit is so on point. Deep midnight navy (close to black) in colour, loose fitting but nipped in the right places i.e. waist, with the help of a drawstring belt. Flattering soft V neckline trimmed in army green and cream stripes, which is also along the side drop of the trousers. Slightly opened back and a complimentary oversized cap sleeve. Theme with these Kendall & Kylie army green ankle boots (Azur, Greystones), stappy heel or trainers. Fabric doesn’t cling and it hangs beautifully.
Remember all of the pieces can be swopped and changed to create more than one look. Keep checking out our website as we are still adding new pieces to our online store. Each delivery that we receive is like a mini Christmas for us. Have a great week. If you like this blog feel free to like, share, comment or private message us, we are happy to chat.
